- Full Class A road-test applicants generally need approved mandatory entry-level training.
- Class B/E applicants have school-bus-specific requirements including the approved school-bus driver improvement course.
- Class C/F are regular bus licence classes, based partly on passenger seating capacity.
- Air-brake-equipped vehicles may require a Z endorsement.
- As of May 11, 2026, Class A–F applicants must meet Ontario residence, legal presence and work-eligibility documentation requirements, subject to limited exceptions.
